A solution to all of your problems!
- Suffering from low self-esteem and embarassment due to PCOS and the menopause? Your hormone levels may be causing excess hair growth.
- The treatment encourages hair to grow straight, so is a great solution for ingrown hairs.
Your practitioner will use a small hand piece to deliver each laser pulse. A treatment could take as little as a few minutes to as long as an hour, depending on the area.
Some patients may feel a slight discomfort with each pulse, often likened to the snapping of a rubber band on the skin. It resolves quickly and is minimised by the patented Dynamic Cooling Device.
The number of sessions depends on the treatment you require and the condition of your skin - typically up to eight are required. These are sold in courses of 8, and booked 4-6 weeks between each treatment for facial areas, and 6-8 weeks for the body.
You should avoid plucking, electrolysis or waxing for 6 weeks prior to treatment. Your skin should be clean-shaven and thoroughly cleansed. Do not expose the area to sunlight or tanning booth prior to and immediately after treatment. Sunblock of SPF30 + needs to be applied.
A cool compress or soothing gel may be applied for comfort. Any redness or swelling should resolve in just a few short hours.
Prevent sun exposure by applying sunblock SPF30+ immediately after, and avoid sunbathing for at least three weeks. In the first few days after treatment, do not scrub the area.
Permanent side effects are rare and may include redness, swelling, hyperpigmentation, hypopigmentation, blistering and purpura (a laser bruise) in the treated area. That being said, these do not usually last more than a few days.
